  1. MaxsBBS V1.52 Patch ReadMe

  4. BackGround
  5. ----------
  6. MaxsBBS is the friendliest bbs system around at the moment, despite its
  7. current limitations. The purpose of this patch, and hopefully subsequent
  8. patches is to increase the capabilities of maxsbbs V1.52.

  11. What
  12. ----
  13. This patch adds the ability to download and logoff from maxsbbs 1.52.
  14. Previously this should have been easy, just write a door that calls
  15. the download function and then the logoff menu function. Unfortunately
  16. this will not work becuase after a download maxsbbs asks you to press
  17. return.

  22. This patch removes this requirement to press return after a download.
  23. From here it is up to you to make your own door to handle a download
  24. & logoff, or you can use the supplied door.

  32. USAGE
  33. -----

  35. To apply the patch to maxsbbs1.52 just type the patches name and pass
  36. it the path and name of the maxsbbs file.

  38. Eg,

  40. MaxsPatch152 DH0:MaxsBBS
  41.              ^^^^^^^ Change this to the name of the BBS executable.

  44. Once that is done you can, if you so desire, replace every download
  45. function with a door function. So 24 becomes 34. This door can then do
  46. the dirty work for you. An example entry in my menus is..

  52. Easy ey!. If you have many download menus then I suggest you use
  53. powersnap or equivalent to add in the door name.
